The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of North Texas (UNT), a Carnegie Research 1 (R1) Hispanic-serving and Minority-serving public research university, invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a research focus in Microbial Genomics. This includes (but is not limited to) research in microbial ecology or metagenomics of any group of microbes, at scales from genes to populations to communities to ecosystems. The successful candidate will have 1) an earned doctoral degree in Biological Sciences or related field, 2) a proven record or propensity to obtain external funding to support an active research program, 3) a growing record of scholarship and publication appropriate to the applicants' field of study, and 4) an academic record demonstrating the potential for excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching.
