BioDiscovery Institute Proposal Manager

Position Overview

The BDI Proposal Manager will execute the day-to day planning and management of research grants and contract proposal development, processing, and scheduling, in order to ensure that the BioDiscovery Institute submits compelling, compliant, on-time proposals in response to solicitations of varying size and complexity, ranging from short-term task orders to large, multi-miliion dollar research projects. Oversees the full life-cycle of proposal development, including planning, scheduling, and managing competitive proposals with end-to-end ownership and command of proposal development and related support processes, while serving as a writer, editor, and/or reviewer as required. Successful performance in this role will result in the acquisition of large externally funded projects and programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years of progressively responsible professional-level related experience in proposal submission activities in pursuit of private, local, state, or federal grants or contracts, which includes demonstrated crafting of proposals in response to competitive solicitations that were awarded funding from federal government agencies; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • • Demonstrated ability to use varying styles, approaches, skills, and techniques to communicate with various constituents (e.g., faculty, staff, community partners) with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • • Strong proposal writing experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills writing original content and editing.
  • • Demonstrated ability to identify key components of an RFP and use them to develop the tools needed to ensure compliance for each proposal effort.
  • • Demonstrated ability to maintain clear, consistent, timely, and effective communication with proposal stakeholders.
  • • Proven track record in management of small to large, complex proposal efforts.

Preferred Qualifications

A degree or background in a science discipline. Previous experience coordinating multi-authors grants in a university setting. This is a security sensitive position.
